Online taste maker magazine Mess+Noise recently ran a mid-year 'best of' albums article, in which Varning received a guernsy.  View it

Also, be advised that the online store is OPEN for digital copies of the album, and taking orders for vinyl, available from Monday 10th (and at the show).  Lash out, it looks and sounds great.

#20 Apr 10 - With great pleasure, we can confirm that support acts for the NSC show are Silver City Highway and Andrew Keese & The Associates.  A stellar line-up.

Preliminary promo copies of VARNING went out to media and radio last week...many thanks to Brisbanes 4ZZZ, where the album went straight to No. 2 on their weekly playlist.

Finally, for anybody seeking a little entertainment in the country, Lindsay will perform at the Rusty Spring Festival in Daylesford (VIC) this coming Sunday 25th April.  Venue is set for the Daylesford Uniting Church Hall, LP will be on at 8PM.  Also performing - East Brunswick All Girls Choir, Big Smoke, Heidi Elva and more...$15 entry.

#24 Jan 10
- 2010.....What Now??

The good word is that we can finally expect the release of Lindsay's debut record VARNING sometime around April/May.  This will be a vinyl and digital download only release.  For those of you who do not own a turntable, fear not as the package will come complete with a free download coupon.  And of course, digital downloads will be available from Departed Sounds and most likely iTunes.

Better still, work has commenced on album No.2, entitled TAEDIUM VITAE.  This time around Lindsay is working with producer Myles Mumford, who is busy drafting 12-16 part orchestral scores for many of the albums tracks.  Expect something on a slightly grander scale.

And lastly, don't miss Lindsays' next live performance supporting The Taylor Project EP launch this Saturday 30th at The Empress (714 Nicholson St, Nth Fitzroy).  Doors 8:30PM, $10 with CD.
LP onstage at 10PM.

- O DECEIT - Review by Simone - Beat Magazine (Melb)

'Lindsay's distinctive voice recalls M Ward or Henry Wagons; the song is beautiful but it's the voice that will stay with you.  He plucks at his guitar with a feather light hand and sings a rich, quavering folk song, with just the faintest, almost gospel-like harmonies.  Lovely.

#26 Oct 09
- A very special show to announce for this coming November in Melbourne...Lindsay Phillips,
Tom Woodward (The Orphanage) and Fergus McAlpin (Silver City Highway) together onstage trading songs.  There will be two rounds during which these three diverse and well seasoned songwriters put their best material to the test - and the possibility of them coming together for an encore (??).  It all goes down at the Wesley Anne, Northcote, on Sunday 22nd Nov.  Doors 8:30pm.  DON'T MISS IT.

In other news, Lindsays' debut self titled EP is now available for download, and there are roughly 40 copies of this available to purchase on Cd.  This will NOT be reissued, so get in quick!!  His 2nd EP 'Aileen' should be available within a few days, and is also on the endangered species list.

You'll find them right here on the Releases page.
